Volunteer Training Coordinator Anaka Hughes
Anaka joined the team here at Clallam 2 Fire-Rescue in December 2019. Her position of volunteer training coordinator is a grant funded position through the Federal Emergency Management Agency Assistance to Firefighter Grant program. The volunteer training coordinator is a part-time position with a focus on recruiting and retaining volunteer firefighters, as well as managing and tracking their training/progress.
Anaka is still a volunteer firefighter/EMT with Clallam County Fire District #3 to our east. She has previously worked as a heavy diesel mechanic in the Seattle area and overseas in the Middle East. Prior to becoming our volunteer coordinator she also worked as an EMT with Olympic Ambulance in Sequim.
